THE 2009 NBA DRAFT! Captain Draft will try and get a lead on NCAA Basketball's top prospects coming out!
Sacramento Kings looking good and might do some wheeling and dealing. Looks like they will stay put with the top pick and take OU Center Blake Griffin. The Kings used to dominate the other Western Division clubs except the Lakers but that was in the early 90s'. Griffin would be a key player in putting Sac back into the playoffs.
Who will be the player taken in the 2009 NBA draft?
Just because a player looks like the next super star doesn't mean a team won't trade down for a all-star veteran and other players. The Kings might get some great offers and trade the no. 1 overall pick or draft a different player. Here are my top 9 other prospects that could be the no. 1 picks.
Mark Sanchez and the Jets will have a relationship but how good?
There are five players looking to leave their current towns what do you think would be a good trade. What do you think e-mail me back about this question. Give me your 2 cents your two best trades for these five players at: email@example.com
THE TRADING BLOCK! Jay Cutler was the player traded for top draft picks and veterans who will be next? check out my opinions then e-mail me about draft month trades at firstname.lastname@example.org
Julius Peppers, de, Panthers:
1. to 49ers for Ray McDonald, no. 2 and 4 and 2nd and 7th rounders in 2010.
2. to Patriots for two no. #1s and a 4th rounder in 2010.
Plaxico Buress, wr, NY Giants.
1. to Bears for no. 3 and 5 draft choices and 7th in 2010
Anquan Bouldin, wr, Cardinals
1. to Vikings for 1st rounder and reserve offensive lineman.
Chad 'Ocho Cinco' Johnson, wr, Bengals
1. To Raiders for rights to Louis Rankin, 3rd round and 7 th round picks.
The Chargers should trade L.T. while they can! The Packers or Jets would be a good fit for L.T.

Its shocking to see the Rams roster with no Issac Bruce, no Torry Holt and a lot of holes that need to be repaired. The greatest show on turf is now rookies first finding the turf, Jason Smith (Baylor) will help but the Rams will struggle. But the defense looks good, a few linebackers and tackles and the Rams can start talking wildcard by 2010.
Everybody puts down the Lions! They have had some great talent, especially at wr but the qb and O-line have caused many losing seasons. This time they got a qb, but Detroit historically has done great with lower round qb picks and they go for running backs or D-linemen. Who is going to protect Stafford? The Lions nor their fans are sure if they have the running game and defense to keep Stafford from over working to rescue the franchise so fans hope last years draft picks and some free-agent help will get the ball moving.
Why Tyson Jackson? K.C. is trying to become the K.C. Patriots. They are going to build up that defense but wouldn't Curry have been the better choice? And what about the O-line? K.C. drafted good and they do have Vrable at lb. But they could have taken an linemen with the first two picks and given Cassell more protection.

2009 NFL Draft - Round 1
49ers C+ Awesome pick with Crabtree; missed a chance to take Patrick Cowan (UCLA) like they decided against Trevor Laws last season. But not getting a pass rusher took away their B+.
Bears B/ Rich got richer with Jerron Gilbert being part time starter at de and cb D.J. Moore.
Bengals A/ Maualuga will work beside Keith Rivers to give Bengals run stuffing defense.
Andre Smith will bring back memories of the old 80s’ offensive linemen with the Bengals.
Bills C/ good defensive picks except defensive tackle and an ot would have added more depth to O-line.
Broncos C+/ got players that are very good but will have trouble starting because they will be in spots that are overloaded with veterans and first year players.
Browns B-/ Can’t believe Browns passed on defensive players but Mack brings more support for Brady Quinn.
Bucaneers C-/ Freeman a good future starter but an outside linebacker to replace Derrick Brooks wasn’t picked.
Cardinals C/ an offensive lineman who could rotate at tackle was a big need. Wells will rotate as part time starter.
Chargers C+/ They can sack the qb but what about a future replacement for L.T. and inside linebacker depth?
Cheifs C/ Jackson could become another Neil Smith but K.C. didn’t address the O-line situation.
Colts B/ Didn’t waste time getting a dt. Moala (USC) will help shut down the run while Donald Brown (UConn) rotates as relief running back.
Cowboys B/ Already talented at almost every position Victor Butler helps upgrade a great pass rush. Michael Hamlin (Clemson) will be trying to take Roy Williams spot at SS. Great special teams pick with David Buehler (related to ex-Raider guard George Buehler).
Dolphins B/ Dolphins are close to challenging the Pats for the AFC East. DB’s were their top need. Cb Sean Smith (
Eagles C/ Needed a tight end and safety help but Macklin was great pick for them.
Falcons C+/ Lawrence Sidbury could be a big steal and Jerry will start.
Giants B-/ Didn’t find a mlb but Hakeem Nicks will help take the sting out of losing Plaxico Burress.
Jaguars A-/ Monroe will be a star.
Jets B/ Sanchez changes their 2009 season and Greene will rotate with Thomas Jones for rushing time.
Lions C/ Find some O-linemen and the grade may go higher.
Packers C+/ Raji brings back memories of both Reggie White and Gilbert Brown. He is very quick like White and bit like Brown.
Panthers B/ Julius Peppers will probably be traded now that Everett Brown is going to rush the qb from the olb position.
Patriots A/ Did everything well except get a big name linebacker but Belicheck will teach rookie lbs’ the pro-game.
Raiders B+ They got affordable draft picks with upside. Brandon Meyers is a steal and pass rushers will contribute early.
Rams B-/ Jason Smith is already bringing fans back to the ticket booth but Rams needed big time dt to collapse the pocket and some depth at linebacker.
Ravens B-/ Got better on O and D-lines, Phillips will help the run defense and he was TCU's best defensive player who will be learning from a Ray Lewis.
Redskins C/ Orakpo will be happy with Albert Haynesworth collapsing the pocket. He'll get easier sacks. Washington could have done more to bring more depth to qb position. Needed more depth on the O-line but the defense looks much better.
Saints C-/Should have drafted a power rusher along with
Seahawks C- Should have drafted Sanchez and they already have linebacker sized pass rushers.
Steelers B/ It starts with defense in Steel Town and Hood will help shut down the run while linebackers rush the qb. Wallace could be the deep go-to receiver Big Ben has never really had.
Texans C+/ Didn't get a hb but the defense got better. Cushing and Barwin will confuse defenses both can pass rush and play the pass well.
Titans C/Got the receivers they needed but still short on defensive ends and tackles. It also will take time to see if they got the right receivers for this team.
Vikings C-/ Harvin will light up the offense but Vikings could have used depth at ilb, O-line and the secondary.
49ers Scott Killop, lb,
Zach Follet, olb,
Jarron Gilbert, de,
Lawrence Sidbury, de, Atlanta Falcons/ Speed rusher who is a project but could turn out to be a great pass rusher like ex- Falcon star Tim Greene.
Frank Summers, fb,
Nick Reed, de,
James Davis, hb,
Fili Moala, dt,
Jarrett Dillard, wr,
Demetrius Byrd, wr,
49ers missed the mark again. Not only didn’t they find a pass rushing linebacker but they had to take a receiver when they could have had DeSean Jackson and 3-4 end Trevor Laws for next to nothing. This time they missed on UCLA’s Pat Cowan a
K.C. has always loved rush linebackers but they passed on Curry and didn’t trade down where they could have had Tyson Jackson anyway. A tackle to protect Matt Cassell’s blind side would have done more for K.C. than a 3-4 end.
Defense missing pieces:
Rey Maualuga, lb, Bengals/ Will work with ex-USC teammate Keith Rivers to give
Scott Killop, lb, 49ers/ Mike Singeltary is your coach, Patrick Willis is your teammate so all you have to do is learn from both and you, Mr. Killop, could be a star, for now you will rotate with Willis and Takeo Spike to crush the run, the 49ers’ defensive strength.
Darius Butler and Ron Brace, Patriots/
Vontae Davis or Sean Smith/ If CFL star Cameron Wake (39 sacks in 2 CFL seasons) can rush the qb half as good as Joey Porter and Davis or Smith can jam receivers.
Everett Brown, lb, Panthers/ Brown is a good rush-linebacker that will play end in the NFL. He makes trading Julius Peppers easier and the Panthers should get better quick after trading him.
Solid rookie starters for 2009 season
Alex Mack, C, California
Jason Smith, ot, Baylor
John Wood, de, Central Missour
Max Unger, c, Oregon
Piera Jerry, dt, Ole Miss
Dolphins pay Longshore extra attention!
California qb Nate Longshore didn't get drafted but his hard work to rebound from some bad breaks got him a free agent contract with the Miami Dolphins!

Bengals: Rey Maualuga joins Keith Rivers to form a great run stuffing corps of linebackers.

Free Agent Steals: Can undrafted college players prove they belong in the NFL and shut up the so-called experts?
Kory Sheets, hb, Purdue/ Fast but needs to learn receiving, blocking and following blockers.
Alex Boone, ot, OSU/ Immature player with great size, 49ers want to find out if he can be motivated. Started off well at OSU but had mediocre senior season.
Zach Potter, de, Nebraska/ size and fact that NY lost D-linemen will put him on opening day roster.
Jamal Westermann, de,
Patrick Cowan, qb, UCLA/ Injuries destroyed his draft position but one day he may prove all the scouts wrong and become Saints best qb.
